I bought a Pico Tech TA131, but I received a "Pico Tech" MI103. Are they the "same"? Should I return it?
I have no experience with the MI103 probe.
While I have no doubt that it could perform equally well as the TA131, there is a main difference.
MI103 has a separate HF-trim, which you have to get right before you can have a stellar performance from this probe.
By contrast, the TA131 has only the usual LF-trim and is an excellent HF-match for the SDS1000X-E series right out of the box.
To cut a long story short, you need to study the operating instructions carefully and will most likely need a good quality 1 MHz square wave with fast risetime (<3 ns) in order to adjust the HF-compensation correctly.
