Keithley 6500 continuity beeper

I recently picked up a DMM 6500.  The continuity beeper is very faint and I have extreme tinnitus close the beeper frequency.  Has anyone else been bothered by the faint beeper enough to attempt a boost?  Is there a way to attach pass/fail to the trigger output or one of the IOs on the accessory cards?  It is the only bench meter I have with continuity checking and I need it to be useful.
