Which DC load - Rigol DL3021 or Siglent SDL1020X-E?
« on: October 09, 2019, 08:14:04 am »
I am looking to purdchase a new DC Load.
I will use it for testing (pre)amplifier power supplies, batteries and small(ish) MCU power supplies.
I do not need the very highest accuracy, but I like features and programmability.

I have narrowed down my search to the DL3021 or the SDL1020X-E. They are within my budget.

I noticed it's possible to hack the Rigol to a DL3021A. The SDL1020X-E is missing CP and CR modes as far as I can see.
So on paper the Rigol looks better - but what's it like in real life?

Nope.

Four static/dynamic modes: CC/CV/CP/CR
See the X-E specs overview at the foot of this page:

Well, now I am trying to decide between Rigol DL3021A and Siglent SD1020X. Any ideas? I guess both should be fine, but...
