TES 2900 from Taiwan
« on: May 10, 2016, 04:26:09 am »
Brymen is a well known brand of DMM manufactured in Taiwan. The other day i was sourcing some cheap stuff on one of the well known electronic place (some sort of electronic supermarket) in our country and visited a local electronic hobby shop and found a TES2900 Industrial DMM. I tried to look for information regarding this meter and found nothing including a manual. Any information about this meter? I found it very interesting and current price @ aliexpress is around $693.

Why is it so expensive? It seems like the same rubbish as a 25 USD DMM.

Are you really a normal T&M user, or actually the manufacturer trying to sell your product here? :)

Your introduction seems like so, honestly. First you start with Brymen in the first sentence, in order
to get the attention from people to continue reading, and then turn to some Chinese rubbish multimeter.

In psychology they have done many studies on this approach:
First bring a picture in people's mind of something valuable and precious.
Then deviate the subject. Result: people will also associate that new subject, as valuable and precious
even if it would be very inferior.

No way that that meter is worth the advertised product price. Waste of money in every sense!
The plastic seems very cheap, and will easily break when you drop the meter only from 1 meter distance.

Are you sure that your assumptions that the OP is the manufacturer havent tainted your reply somewhat?
If you look at gilcos' posts, hardly seems like a spammer!

I am assuming this is targeted at the power/industrial market? Havent seen a meter with all of the 3 phase specific measurement options. Very cool. I wonder if the price is a mistake? Can never hurt to message the seller!

$693 for this is silly, but a lot of prices on Aliexpress are silly. You need to be careful. However....

Do you really think this looks like s $25 meter? Seriously? I've never seen a Brymen meter, and I've only heard about them through eevblog. I've used TES stuff off and on for the last 25 years. They aren't the very best, but they usually pretty good for the money. TES is from the same place as Brymen - Taiwan.

You complain about partisan posting, but sound more partisan than the original poster.

I think you should read first before commenting, and i'm not a reseller of this product, just a regular guy. And your psychology is WRONG...
This is the problem, you easily get into a lot of commenting w/o looking into it first. Search my post and you will see, im not selling any products here...IDIOT!! :palm: :palm:

I am very sorry about this, and confirm that I have acted very stupid!

Now it's too late to apologize, but I have learned now to not act like an idiot anymore from my side.

Sorry again for spoiling your post!

The reason why I acted like this, even if that does not justify my behavior, was that very recently
there was actually an original poster that turned out to be the manufacturer.

But again, that does not give me any rights whatsoever to be paranoia and act like an idiot.

I can only promise that I learned from this, and will from now on be more smarter.

It is probably CAT III 1000V.
Is there any Europe / USA distributor?
BTW same as Brymen. There is not a dedicated backlight button.  :--

Chanced upon a Malaysian online shop and it's price is around RM 679.73 (Malaysian Ringgit) which is approximately $168.25 (Not bad), but haven't tried buying on that site. Still looking for a manual.

Anyway, will buy the Brymen B235 EEVBLOG DMM next week. At least this is a sure buy...will consider this later..
