Register new equipment

Hello

I have bought new T&M equipment from a couple of Original Equipment Manufacturers (such as Tektronix, Keithley, Keysight & Hameg) over the last 5 - 10 years. I have never bothered to "Register" any of the equipment with them, i.e. fill in the "Register your equipment" brochure that comes in the box with the equipment. I always rush on to using the equipment.

I sit with a lot of these "Register your equipment" brochures of the equipment I have bought over the years. I wonder if there is any benefit in doing the registration now.

Please educate me on the nuances of Equipment registration with the OEM's

I'm fairly fussy about this and manage all Siglent sales records for Siglent in NZ but first and foremost receipts with model and SN# shown need to be kept as proof of purchase in the absence of warranty documentation.

If the seller doesn't have these records and you don't either then it's likely you'll be SOL if you need support.

I must mention that all the equipment was not bought directly from the OEM companies but through distributors in South Africa.
