Which oscilloscope should I keep?
« on: October 15, 2020, 09:00:02 pm »
I'm looking at removing either a Hameg HM605 or a Hitachi V-695 from my classroom workbenches (need the space for new Siglent sds1202x-e).  Which of the two should I keep?  What's the age range of the Hitachi? Thank you for any opinions or information.

Thank you.  I was leaning that way for the component tester.

Hahah sorry to say but Hamegs are awful to stare at and philips gets the 2nd horrible design prize.

I'd keep the Hitachi. I think having a readout function is more useful than the component tester (sounds pretty gimmicky to me tbh).

I quite like my PM3055 :/

The PM3055 from "fluke" has a better looking, the brown PM3055 from philips was horrible. I own a PM6303, argh, terrible looking

I would keep the one which has the brighter and sharper CRT, which is probably the Hitachi.

I would also keep the Hitachi. I agree with cursors and readouts being more useful than a component tester (at least for regular oscilloscope use).

I would keep the one with the best focus and brightest trace.
