Not that I am aware of.
There is a logic analyser called LA-104 in miniscope format (with a bandwidth of 100MHz,4 channels) for around $80, that can be used without a PC.

But I think you are better of with a USB device such as Kingston LA1010. There you have 16 channels, a 100MSa/s sampling rate and bandwidth just below 60MHz.

Another question:
I was looking again at similarly priced scopes and was wondering if there's anything around the hundred bucks mark that includes any protocol decoding?

Another kind of device is a handheld like the Aneng AOS02 with only one scope channel but a built in DVM, with about half the price of the DPOX180H. Don't know which one is more useful. The Aneng includes a temperature probe and a current shunt. It also measures resistance, capacitance and frequency. Don't know how serious is their 10 MHz scope bandwidth spec.

The ANENG AOSO2 is a rebranded Zoyi ZT-702S.
Both are one channel.

I have the 702S. I like the multimeter part. The scope function has an essential missing measurement: dutycycle, is about 10MHz.
It is not a logic analyzer and has no decoding functionality.

It seems that a 2-channel,50MHz Zoyi ZT-703S is coming up. That would be better comparable to the FNIRSI/Zeeweii, but it also has no protocol decoding.

I asked about the signal generator offset bug by email. They replied a new firmware will fix the issue.

The AOS02/ZT-702S is better as a multimeter and the DPOX180H is by far better as an oscilloscope, as the latter is not a scopemeter and thus has no multimeter function, but does have a signal generator.

Actually, it makes no sense to compare the two.

If you want to start with the topic and 24MHz / 8 channels are enough for the moment, maybe one that costs as much as a pack of cigarettes does the job:

With the "PulseView" software, this is already quite useful in the Arduino area, for example.

I have had a bad experience with these chinese devices: connections got loose. Then I came to my senses and ordered a bit more expensive Kingston and working with that happily after (still looking for a cheap that can also do hardware triggering instead of software triggering)

Well, for the price you don't have to think twice.
I don't know what "Rooster Cogburn" needs exactly.
To get an idea of what the topic is about, these are quite OK.
If you know exactly what you want, you buy a better one.

from my not huge experience - better get two or three devices lower grade than one but hi-end.
you would always afraid to probe high voltage parts or unknown circuit with thousands dollar masterpiece  :)

I had the same thoughts initially.
Sure, I'm not spending an amount above $100. But I must say that working with the LA1010 and 16 channels is much easier than the Chinese device.
But indeed, for a tryout or use once a month the chinese device is an option.

can somebody try to adjust system setings->transparent menus?
I see that it is working only during adjusting (percents running to zero and grid disappearing) but actually no effect to menu after quit.

If you adjust this setting to a specific value and quit, the next time you open a menu, it remembers the setting.

can you try to set transparent menu to 0%, will you still see grid on the screen?

Hello,

I have spent 2 days looking for correct bandwidth tests* of DPOX180H and still didn't found test with terminator, anyone? is it worth anything?

I'm looking for my first oscilloscope up to ~200$

Fnirsi DPOX180H vs Owon HDS2102 vs Hantek dso2c10 (then upgrade to 150Mhz)
which should be best?

I need something universal,
I might try to check car ignition coils or other car stuff
then mainly I will use it with repairing low voltage electronics
I love small form factor, but Im afraid of 2,8'' or 3.5'' LCD
I think that measuring up to 50Mhz in a "good way" would be great
the DPOX180H GUI seems amazing compared to others?

*btw, why there are so many tests to max oscilloscope bandwidth? I mean if its 100Mhz people test it at 100Mhz, they don't know about Shannon sampling theorem? or something changed with DSO?

I agree.  I have also asked but have received no real response.  I guess the people with this scope either do not know how to test for bandwidth, don't care or don't have the right equipment.

From my perspective, you assume the vendor is telling only one lie.   In this case, since the claimed sample rate is marginally fine for the claimed BW I would test for BW first.  Then if it fell significantly short of BW claims I'd then check the sample rate to see if they are also lying about that.  From what we have seen from FNIRSI in the past I am inclined to assume the BW is 60MHz or less.  In which case, that's all you get and a 500Ms/s sample rate is .. meh. :-//

Finally, thanks :)

Im trying to understand,
-13dBm = 142mV peak-to-peak
dpox180h Vpp readings are far away from this value?

Sorry, I recheck terminator it was bad connection (in fact all measurements were done with 1Mohm)

So it's approaching +3dB instead of -3dB at @150MHz?

not so obvious, when input 1Mohm voltage-frequency response is not linear.

Testing with sinusoidal signal is sence less,
because above 30MHz scope FW converts any signal to sinusoidal.

What are you talking about?

Sine wave sweep is one of the preferred ways to determine BW.  The other is to measure fastest rise time.

If your scope is turning everything to a sine wave @ 30MHz, then it's BW is much less than 30MHz

Below is a square wave at 140MHz.  Other than a little ringing it's not looking much like a sine wave.

It really seems strange that the amplitude would increase with frequency.  Something is not quite right.

You were not specific about which scope you meant.  It sounded like a general statement.

In any case a sine wave sweep or rise time analysis should work just fine on the DPOX180 to determine it's bandwidth.
