Modular Hook to Banana Plug Test Leads
« on: April 02, 2015, 12:25:46 pm »
Attached is a screen shot from one of 'TheSignalPath' videos where Shahriar reviewed some fairly new Rigol power supplies.

I am trying to find what brand/model these leads are. I can find very similar ones, i.e. Fluke have a set but the banana plugs are shrouded (not sure if it's a clip on type shrouding, in the video you can hear a click sound as though Shahriar unclips something just before he plugs the cables in - around 3:20 in the video )

There are also a few other similar cables but they all seem to have stackable banana plugs. This is not a big deal (I will go with this if I can't find the singular ones), but I thought I'd ask around first.

Also, I am aware Shahriar is a member of the forums and I have sent him a PM, though I'm not sure how often he is online/checks his inbox.

Thanks all.

I use Pomona Grabbers. They come in several sizes, Mini, Micro, SMD, etc. But they do have stackable plugs, and they're not cheap.

Ah yes, I am familiar with these.

The screen capture I gave isn't the best quality so here is a picture of a similar product. Essentially this is what I am after, just without the shrouded banana plugs. Or if anyone knows if the Fluke ones of these have a clip on shroud so to speak?

I have a bunch of similar cables from this ebay store, run by a forum member I believe.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Silicone-Test-Leads-50cm-with-Sprung-Hooks-and-Banana-Plugs-1-Pair-Red-Black-/200979921195

They are nice silicone cables with unshrouded non-stackable plugs, decent grabbers and reasonable price.

I use these all the time and find them incredibly useful for reusing my various shrouded leads with unshrouded jacks:

I have the exact same mini grabbers too. They came in this set:

That kit also came with the awesome springy micro probes with pogo pins, banana to 0.1" header leads, banana-alligator clips, banana-spade clips, and more. My favorite Fluke lead set.
