HP Agilent 8562E signal identifier
« on: December 11, 2017, 01:11:01 pm »
Hello,
I would like to use an 11970W external mixer on my 8562E : impossible to find the signal identifier in the various menus. Looking at the user manual gave a funny answer : present if software revision <920528 or option 008. Absurd : present in the oldest software revisions or marketing idea (pay an extra option) ? If I fit this old revision (I have 97XXXX) I will probably lost the cal data and a new cal is impossible as the TAM is not compatible with 8562E, except installing another option !!!. An idea to solve a crazy problem ? Thank you

I think I've read that it's a hardware option.

Firmware update note
http://file.yizimg.com/355402/2013040215054884.pdf
states that:
"If the serial prefix is 3305A or below, answer 'Y' (yes) and enter Option 008; these analyzers have the signal identification feature as standard."
