Maybe a bit silly, but what is the defect that you mention? I'm only aware that Rigol introduced this function, but not of any mistake. 
And was it reported to Rigol when it was discovered?

Below the "AC.Vrms#" button there is another button with the number 3, which does not serve any purpose, since it is repeated with another button. I don't think they have fixed the problem with the frequency and the 24 bit depth. It would be good if they made a list of corrections.

A screenshot for the defect is in my previous post. Notice that they'd also updated the Help information. According to that information, the intended outcome supposed to look like on the image below. "AC.Vrms" is an additional item, which is the last one in the column (it corresponds to F6 key). But something went wrong and "AC.Vrms" is actually located at the place of "Variance" item (which is now missing). For me, it's definitely a defect. The interns made a mistake.

What?? Seriously?? You don't think Rigol should do functional testing themselves and just throw the latest compiled firmware on the market?? Of course they should find it themselves! Customers aren't responsible for finding flaws in their product, that is most definitely their responsibility. This isn't some short-lived tech-toy. This is a measurement device that people need to be able to trust and Rigol want you to believe you can trust it.

I installed the firmware DS1000Z(ARM)Updatev00.04.05.02.07_tcm7-4148, on my rigol ds1054z and I see no changes, or is it that I am short of visa??

Since I installed the latest firmware on the DS1054Z, it does not allow me to calibrate, I almost reached the end of the progress bar, and the function exits.

The latest version of firmware for the DS1000Z is 00.04.05.02.08.

For calibration to complete, you need to allow the scope to warm-up for at least 30 minutes and remove all the probes.

It happened also to me that, after the fw update, when I did the calibration (no probes attached,
more than 30 minutes warmup etc.), it got stuck.
After waiting for another hour, I switched it off, and switched it on again.
Then I did the calibration again and it succeeded without problems... 

Chinese software I guess...

Well, find out what version you do have!

Under the trigger knob quickly press the MENU > MENU > FORCE > MENU buttons.
Then go to the System Info page to see the extended system information.

I didn't use my ds1054z for a very long time (2 years?). I read something about turning on the scope after a while in the closet, it's not starting anymore?

It has the h*ck*d FW and worked ok the last time I used it.

What I read here, 00.04.05.02.08 is the latest FW version. Can I update with 00.04.05.02.08 and still have 100MHz bandwidth?
