DHO914 battery
« on: September 25, 2024, 06:29:30 am »
Hello!
Just received a DSO9014.
Does anyone know if DHO914 can be powered with a battery?
I read something about batteries, don't use batteries except those recommended by Rigol, usual blah blah,
but I don't see any battery hatch on the case. I also tried to power it with USB-C on the back side (instead
of the power supply), and it doesn't work. They probably use a higher voltage. Any hint welcome.
Thanks!

Yes, it can be powered by a battery... but unfortunately not with the one you just got (sorry if it's a wasted purchase). While both devices may share similar power requirements, they typically use different battery configurations and connections and that battery you mentioned would only work with a certain model it's made for.

However, it can be powered with USB-C power adapter or a power bank with the same kind of connectivity.

EDIT: Got ninja'd by csuhi17... damn.

Hello!
Thanks for your reply. Apparently some powerbanks do work, some other don't. Just for info, I was using an Anker, 20000mAh.
so be sure before buying, not to buy this model. Well, it's a bit old now, so there are probably newer types.
Thanks

How did you know? I just wrote I'm using a power pack.
By the way, what do you mean by "the one you just got"? The scope? The power pack?

Thanks

The 'scope needs 12V, 36W (power delivery profile 3).

If your power bank supports that mode then it should work.
