Bargain ISO-TECH IDM66RT Multimeter

I found these ISO-TECH IDM66RT Meters being sold on UK eBay which seem like good value.  This is a well made, properly protected 6000 count meter that RS currently sell under their RSPRO brand for £182 inc VAT.

The main limitation is the lack of a mA range, the 10A range has a 1mA resolution so not ideal for electronics work, but perfect for sparkies or for automotive work.  I bought one to replace a cheapy I had in my garage for working on the car, and it's in a different league to an equivalently priced Chinese no-name.  It has a probe warning if you select volts with the prob in the Amps socket, a proper Bussmann HRC fuse, plenty of MOVs and PTCs and no contact voltage detection.  The only gripe I have is the probes are pretty mediocre.

That is certainly a good buy.

I believe Iso-Tech is the old RS Components brand that they have now rebadged as RS Pro for a while range of products from test apparatus to hand tools and some components. Probably why it is being sold off at such a good price.

The RS Pro brand test apparatus seem to be a mixture of either Appa Technology or CEM designs. I believe the IDM66RT is an Appa Technology design, similar to their M series multimeters.

The link you have posted to in RS is for a UKAS calibrated device, which always puts the price up. As it stands without RSCal or UKAS, they sell it for £105.97 including VAT - £88.31 without VAT. Still a great buy though.
