TEKTRONIX TDS 350 - option 14 board / or from compatible model.
« on: October 11, 2022, 09:53:33 pm »
Hi, I'm looking for a "module" option 14 (to buy) for my tek tds 350.
All I want is the VGA output , for some reasons that is what I want to use from the module.
If someone have to sell/donate I'm interested.
I'm looking also for a 350 defective one to buy, from were I want to pull it out the option.

Any suggestion or info/link is good for me.

Thank you,
Alin

this is for Europe.

It's fine to ask here, the likely answer is that nobody has one of these available, they were relatively rare in my experience.

Fortunately for a TDS300 series you don't need a module, the VGA signal is available from a header on the main PCB so all you need is a VGA connector, a PC slot bracket from a video card and a ribbon cable to assemble your own.

yes , I confirm it,  is not very clear if you look at the service manual,

but after a close look at the board and in service manual and also hooked up an another oscilloscope on the connector I figure it out how to connect the VGA DB connector.
I put some pics below maybe someone it interested in, there is also the pin-out configuration of the connector.

I think it's deliberate that it's not very clear, Tek wanted to sell the expensive option, they didn't want people just hacking in a connector.

Looks like a nice clean job.
