multimeter probe, tweezers plunger one called
« on: February 11, 2018, 06:14:24 pm »
 |O Ok so not the hook type, but a plunger type probe where as you push down two little arms come out to clamp onto a connector pin or something along those lines. The closest i can find are like this, but sold as a kit, i then tried googling some of the words in the description of the product, but no luck. This is like one of those stupid sunday questions but is possible really easy and worth 10 points  :palm:

Try "grabber" or "mini grabber" in searching.

The original (full-size) ones from the Hirschmann brand (SKS nowadays) go all by the KLEPS-designations. So for example KLEPS-10, KLEPS-2600 etc.

Cheers guys

I have these ones, and they're extremely vile shanzai. Be kind to yourself. Get something a bit nicer.

I guess even manufacturers are unsure what to call them.
KLEPS 30: Clamp-type test probe with rotating grip jaws and flexible shaft.

I guess there might be some copy rights if people are not careful!

Bad news is that there isn't a cheap but good option - you get what you pay for!

I find that EBay has a lot of the Tek ones at very competitive per-unit price (new old stock usually).
Example listing:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Lot-20-Tektronix-SMT-KlipChip-Mini-Grabbers-206-0364-01-Adapter-Test-Clips/152884514465

I have a bunch of the Cal-Test version (which seem to be the Tek OEM) and they are pretty good, very competitive with the other mid-range probes like the EZ-Hook.
