I'm an idiot.
I've been meaning to back up the cal data on my 8591A but forgot about it, and got lazy. When I powered the unit today, I got a bunch of errors. After taking the cover off, sure enough, BT101 is completely dead... Cal data is now lost. Great. Now the unit is all out of whack, with a constant FREQ UNCAL error. Am I correct to assume this is a lost cause unless I send the unit to a proper cal lab once I replace the battery??? I got the machine for fairly cheap (was failing it's self cal, all it needed was an adjustment on one of it's RBW filters), so I don't want to spend more on getting it cal'd then what the SA cost me.
I do have access to calibrated HP 8593E's at work, not that I think that will help.
Any input would be fantastic.
