Flir cm275 or fluke 279Fc
« on: May 30, 2024, 09:24:31 am »
Hi
I want to buy new multimeter with IR camera. I'm thinking about fluke 279fc or flir cm275. Flir is clamp meter and it have better camera, but fluke is better as normal meter and I have never worked with flir multimeters.
I have possibility to buy both of this meter at the same price ( 750$). Is it worth to try it?
Thanks for reply
Best regards
Damian

I have never used the FLIR but I have used the Fluke. I don't like it at all. Fix focus, low resolution and the worse part is that the battery is always dead when I want to use it. I wouldn't buy a thermo imager that has some form of DMM function built in.

Closest I have is the Flir DM166 and my thought is that you're really better off with separate devices for a couple reasons.  First is that the battery life is very short due to having to run the color display, even for just DMM functions.  Second is that combo devices are frequently poor at their individual functions and both the Fluke and Flir appear to follow this trend.

Why not get a Flir IR camera that attaches to your cell phone then a nice DMM?
