I am trying to build my lab for a low jitter kit <100ps, with a good timebase etc...
1st step was a good scope, TDS694C, with all trigger chips working and some space to save the wave form. Found it from ebay.
As I am in a remote region, a friend of mine is testing the equipment down south before sending it over.
Plugged the output of a AWG2021 to the TDS694C
Initial power up was OK
Wave form was OK, trigger seems to be OK
Then warning about the input overheating
soon after click click sound, screen blinking...
Main power switch was turned off at that moment.
What could be the next thing to ask my friend to check ?
Is the fan working was my 1st guess ?
Should I return the unit or try to fix it ? Triggers seem to be all good.
Thank you all,
