Looking for a resonably priced probe holder
« on: November 23, 2013, 08:35:37 pm »
Greetings!  I'm looking for a decent, but reasonably priced probe positioner/holder for my o-scope.  I would like to stop soldering little wires to my SMT pads and clipping onto them.

Agilent offers this one: http://www.home.agilent.com/en/pd-1643963-pn-N2787A/3d-probe-positioner, but at over $700USD, it's outrageously overpriced.  The little two leg guys don't really have the precision I'm looking for since I'll be probing tiny things.

Thoughts?

This could be ok?

Distrelec is an EU distributor. Don't know your country, but maybe searching "PMK MSA-100" could help you to find it in other shops.

kind of reminds me of an indicator stand/holder.

idk if the magnet would be a problem dealing with electronics. im sure the base can be easily replaced with a hunk of steel or granite, or something of that nature.
