L&N 4754 : Teardown and test
« on: December 16, 2015, 04:55:32 pm »
Look what has arrived in my mail.

Some wirewound porn inside:

It's a bit sick, but still works okayish. I used my sick 3458A to get some test data off it, using python app to cycle thru ranges and values (while working myself as motor for decade switches).

All photos and hi-res links, including python app code as usual fully available here.

P.S. Winning bid for it was 20$, but shipping 80$  :P

The 1972 L&N catalog was on voltnuts recently (153MB). It's in there. Resistance box from DC to high frequencies.

Moderate accuracy in 1972  ???

Thanks for the teardown. I believe that is a L&N type 31 switch inside.
If you own any North Hills Electronics gear, message me. L&N Fan

Yes, I got that one and linked it in article.
I wonder if there is datasheet for this specific decade anywhere.

Basic specs are on the page. Bit hard to read.
Here's another try  :)
