The bottom HP PSU I rescued from the scrap, a colleague of mine brought it into the office, it was private property, to have it join our regular scrap removal. Never hit the scrap pallet, straight into my car booth.

Nice haul. You are aware that the HP PSU is modified? (the jacks between the instruments are probably an aftermarket mod to bring the fully rated output to the front).

Yes, I know. The former owner put the black/red outlet on the front. Factory standard is outlets on the back. I have since installed some heavier gauge wiring between these outlets and the connection rail, it was a bit too flimsy to my taste.

The -hp- 8012 is a good pulse generator. I had a strange problem with mine: the pulse outputs are current generators designed to drive one or two 50 ohm loads, one of which is internal and switched in by a DPST reed relay (on both positive and negative outputs). Somehow, my DIP relay had been installed rotated 180 deg, so the contacts still worked but the internal coil diode was backwards—the relay almost worked but was unreliable. No sign of previous work, so it must have been a factory error. Easy fix.

Neat pulser. It looks like the little brother of my 8082A. Really great little bits of kit, and the controllable transition times is a killer feature.

The pulse gen looked like a neat instrument, intercepted from a trip to ewaste. Trigger out appears to be working but main output doesnt, so might need a bit of repair and renovation (aka capacitor replacements

).

Actually the 732B have been continuously on for couple months now, after replacing all the schaffner IEC inline filters and batteries. Just started logging to see how stable they are. I can say the 732A I got earlier is looking very good so far, hopefully the 732B's will be also. Then on to calibration if all looks good.

CuriousMarc on youtube did a repair on an 8082A...might be some useful information in his video if there is commonality between the two.

Still needs much more sorting out, bit messier than I would like Im afraid, but slowly getting through repairs. Need to sell some extras at some point, got carried away with some things I bought, because you know 'bargains'...

Heres a couple pics of it from a few months ago, thankfully a bit of spring cleaning has cleaned/sorted it up a bit (and an old bench photo before the clean up).

My new bench power supply: eez bb3. Well, not exactly new, I got it a few months ago, but only now I managed to finish it to somewhat workeable state. Still missing a power supply for one channel, that's why it says "error" on the screen.

I am hoping this will 'eventually' be a score. $2k AUD for a 3458A with 'issues' from the other side of the country

Has the fairly typical ACal error and has been out of use for 8-10 years so a trip to Keysight will be in it's future. Also has an Error 202 to sort out. ETA late next week.....

Nice. Personally, I got a 3456A for cheap, and I also have a 3455A (though I hate it now that I have the fan-less 56A). It's enough voltnuttery for me.

Saved this from a dumpster at work. Another cleanup day, a box covered in dust, on an obscure shelf, nobody knew what it was used for or when, so was declared garbage. Oy vey!!!
