Laser Power Supply / Circuit ID
« on: September 23, 2019, 11:59:01 pm »
Digging in the e-waste bin at work I found a nice piece of kit. It's missing the main controller board so I can't test much out, but I'm very curious as to how the circuit works and what it's used for.

Initial analysis shows 220v input, full bridge rectified into ~300VDC and sent over to the three identical PCBs in series with huge ICs under them that span the width of a hefty heatsink. The huge copper bus-bars indicate a good few amps are being dealt with, but not being able to see the ICs themselves due to soldered rivets makes this hard to decipher.

The label inside says CS241 13V/80A, so I assume the 300V is being stepped down, but the lack of inductors or large ceramic capacitors rules out a switching supply. The huge heatsink and dual 60mm fans makes me think it might be some sort of linear supply for lower noise. Is there anyone that recognizes this?
