Micsig DP10007 cable / connector mods?

Anyone have modification recommendations on how to make the DP10007 more amenable to SMD probing?

Also - is the output cable a special (damped) oscilloscope probe cable or ordinary 50Ohm coax? I'd like to put a better connector on this to avoid damage to the high precision BNC inputs on my RTE1000 series scope.
