Anyone know if there will be more in stock or is it discontinued?

I would also like to know the answer to this question. I have been checking the eShop for more than a few weeks, and they have been out of stock.

Thanks!

It seems like they aren't often stocked.... I don't really want to have to make my own, but I also don't want to wait months either.

I'm wondering if anyone would be interested in splitting the cost to have some PCB's made since the board design is open source? I think the electronic components are about $30-40 from Mouser.

What is the 2023 status of the µCurrent Gold, now that it no longer appears in the EEVblog store?

Is the following EBAY seller now the official source?

Or is everyone buying a CurrentRanger now?

I have both.  I do not recall seen a uCurrent Gold in stock for maybe a couple years.  It's open source apparently, so others are probably free to make them, although not sure about the EEVblog labelling?

Personally I would not bother with the uCurrent Gold, as I've not found it to be very good.  Noisy and inaccurate, at least in my opinion, relatively speaking.  The CurrentRanger is quite a bit better and it's particularly nice with the display option, although it won't seem to display negative values.  It has an auto-range feature.  It is a bit more money.

Would a simple resistor as a shunt perhaps work for your project?

Hi,

I was trying to find uCurrent device too, but it looks like it is discontinued. Because it is open source I was curious and made one by myself.
I have a few spare boards. They are 1:1 to the original one: gold-plated PCB and all the resistors are 0.1% or 0.05% tolerance. Everything just like in the original design.

I know CurrentRanger may be a little better, but the price is 2 times bigger and sometimes you just need a simple, cheap device in your lab.

If someone is interested I placed my spare boards on tindie: https://www.tindie.com/products/elfatronics/ucurrent-gold-device/
Also if you are interested in a more DYI option, you can buy just gold platted PCB and the original box: https://www.tindie.com/products/elfatronics/ucurrent-gold-pcb-enclosure-kit/
