WANDEL & GOLTERMANN SPM-15 SERVICE MANUAL AND REPAIR

Hello everyone!

I just acquired a Wandell & Golterman Selective Level Meter (Selektiver Pegelmesser) model SPM-15 from an online marketplace. The set is powering-up and the control panel controls seems to be responsive. I tried to find a user manual online with no success, so I was basically guessing with it. The only thing I found was a synthetic datasheet informing the main technical specifications ( http://www.testequipmenthq.com/datasheets/WANDEL%20&%20GOLTERMANN-SPM15-PSE%2015-Datasheet.pdf ).

After some try and error with it, I finally found that the frequency/tracking generator seems not to be working properly. I attached a scope to the frequency output BNC connector and it was possible to see that it actually is outputing some fixed frequencies (counted at least 4 different ones) but the frequency controls on the front panel seems not to be actually controlling the PLL/oscilator although the display is responsive to the controls (what make me think that the internal micro controller is getting the input signals from the panel buttons and is output controlling the led displays correctly). The front-end RF input amplifier and the power/level meter and attenuators (both analogic and digital) seems to be working OK since it is sensitive the the fixed frequencies that the oscilator produces. I tested it with a RF generator and was able to meter these frequencies (I don´t have them here with me, but the first one I remember is something about 625Khz).

I would like to go ahead and fix it cause seems to me that it can be a valuable instrument for RF/HF experiments, tests and repairs. After a lot of online search, I was unable to find any operating or service manual for the SPM-15, so I´m in the dark. I found some sites having lots of info and PDF manuals for other W&G test equipments, including other SPMs models, like the SPM-19 and SPM-60, (e.g. http://ftb.ko4bb.com/getsimple/index.php?id=manuals&dir=06_Misc_Test_Equipment/Wandel_and_Goltermann ) which is a good thing cause the internal architecture of the SPM-15 probably is not radically different from those ones.

If anyone can help me find more documentation/manuals for the SPM-15 or even help me with the fix and repair I would be very grateful.
