just got a bunch of older benchtop hameg equipment
« on: March 10, 2016, 08:57:29 pm »
I work at a two year college and the electronics department is getting rid of a bunch of older (not sure age) Hameg benchtop equipment.  I was able to get some of it, some had equipment tags and our state makes us send this equipment to a state surplus warehouse.  looks like the equipment that I am going to be able to get are:

In one set of boxes, it has two modules per box, is a HM8030-3 Function Generator and HM8021-2 1 Ghz counter

the other set of boxes has hm8040 triple power supply and hm8011-3 digital multimeter.

I still need to check all of it and see if it works. I will be keeping one set of these for myself, but the rest I will probably put on here for whomever wants it, I will probably just charge shipping for each piece, have to see. I will post an update as soon as I have tested them.  I do know that none of them has any leads.

The thing that kinda ticked me off was there were 5 Hameg 20 Mhz analog oscopes, but all of them had inventory numbers so I can not get them (just my luck).

Even if old Hameg is top quality stuff, will likely serve you well for many years to come.

Nice score.

That Hameg modular test kit is good quality. I own several sets. The frequency counter uses a nice automated software calibration routine. You feed it with an accurate 10MHz signal and activate calibration. The internal reference oscillator is brought onto frequency with a digitally controlled voltage and the digital offset recorded in eeprom. No multi turn mechanical trimmers here :)

The units were designed to stack under the Hameg CRO's and made a neat stack of test kit.

Mine have been accurate and reliable. These still sell for a decent sum of money on the secondary market.

I have seen on ebay, I am trying to decide whether I want to be a nice guy and give them away (for shipping of course) or want to try to sell them on ebay and see if I can get any money out of them, tough call.

ok an inventory of items:

These power on but no leads to check them:
hm8030-3      5
hm8021-2      8
hm8040         7
hm8011-3      9
hm8001          13

These either do not power on or have damaged switches/knobs
hm8030-3            (3)
hm8021-2            (2)
hm8001                (4)

Now have to figure out how much these are worth.  I have looked on ebay for completed auctions but they are all in europe looks like.  Prices look like $75 to $150 per module and the hm8001 double frame(?) looks like about $100 or so. I probably will ask $50 each for the modules and $75 for the frame (plus shipping for each of these) and see how it goes.  As for the messed up stuff if someone wants them I am just south of little rock arkansas, you come get them you can have them, or pay shipping.  The frames look like just the power buttons except for one and it will not power up at all. one of the hm8030-3 and one of the hm8021-2 will not power up, the rest just have missing or broken button/knobs.

Not sure if I want to go to all the trouble of listing with ebay or just putting them up here? Any advise on this?
