Looking for an inexpensive portable oscilloscope recommendation
« on: January 10, 2022, 05:28:35 am »
Newbie hereā€¦ looking for a portable scope for basic vehicle diagnostic use.  Things like checking crank position sensors, ignition pickup coils, etc.  I see a number of inexpensive options available like Owon and Hantek offerings.  Any recommendations?

Get something designed for the job, complete with automotive cables and connectors, etc.

Looks cool but given I don't do this for a living was hoping for something "adequate" in the 200.00 to 300.00 (US) range...

There's this:

It's nowhere near as good, but it might do the job. Try asking the owners in that thread what they think.

That's what I ended up ordering after I saw the owon thread.  Even with its flaws I should suffice for my purposes.
