I've been using the meter today, working on a Sony V-Fet amplifier repair/refurb. Some observations from my time getting to know this meter:
I have no experience with other modern graphical UI meters. This one feels fast, very responsive. The functions are grouped pretty well, for example display options are all in one menu, I'll see if there is is more menu diving involved in getting advanced setups.
The display is very nice, sharp and clear. Buttons are also very crisp feeling, no mis-presses so far.
The construction seems up to current standards. The face is surrounded by a rubber material that feels OK as I place my fingers on it to push buttons with my thumb. The case feels solid, it does not rattle or make other noises.
The manual is on a CD, it is typical Japanese regarding the translation quality. You'd think after Admiral Perry arrived the Japanese would have better command of American English, it's only been 163 years since the American gangsters arrived. ( I am an American, and half Japanese on my mother's side)
I have been monitoring the bias setting of the amplifier, as this is a critical issue with the old Sony V-Fet amps. The Iwatsu provides me with a really good visual readout of how this circuit is behaving.
As I get to know this meter, I might add more info. I may also open the unit up and have a look around.
There is also a 7502 model, with fewer features.
