They offered to ship the scope back to the US where they would have it repaired or replaced. They also offered to pay the shipping expenses when I send them the invoice.
Wow. That's great to hear. I don't know of many companies that will offer, up front, to pay for shipping on defective items, let alone one so bulky. Nice to hear Rigol's doing this right. Let's hope your repair or replacement works perfectly.
I wonder if my case is just a hardware issue or I may have stumbled upon some undetected bug in 2.06.00 that causes these devices to crash.
Don't take it the wrong way, but I
hope yours was the 'lucky' one. Mine came with the same firmware version, and has been working very well through two months of heavy use. My dad and I (both engineers) still can't believe how inexpensive, yet well-built, these oscilloscopes are, let alone the features they've packed into it at this price (~ $275 US back in December; the price HAS gone up, to $329 now).
By the way, your English is
