Naked !!! ------ Tek 422
« on: December 15, 2017, 12:36:52 pm »
I just finished working on an old Tek 422 scope and thought you might be interested in some pictures of inside. Everything is beautifully laid out, all cable runs supported, well engineered, the tunnel diodes inside metal cans.

All it has needed was cleaning the X10 mag switch, everything else works fine. OK channel 2 variable pot might need replacing but basically that's it.

Not bad for a scope that was introduced in 1966.

Nice, typical Tek quality. Some of the older HP gear from the 70s-80s has a similar level of quality and attention to detail too. This stuff is a work of art.

An no doubt these scopes and many other TEk scopes were probably used for work on the NASA space missions at the time ;)

Nice photos - thanks for posting. Can’t beat 1960’s tek scopes. Really nice engineering.
