BM235 randomish ghosting on display
« on: November 12, 2020, 07:55:13 pm »
Having and issue with ghosting on BM235 but only doing it in; Ohms, continuity, capacitance, and microamps.

Some of the ghosting are of segments that are not even used in those modes.

Fresh batteries, cleaned the connector between the PCB and display. Don't think it's the rotary because it does it in capacitance but not in diode.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi !

Maybe the ambient light has something to do with this ghosting. If you go outside with your meter (in sunlight, partial shade or sun behind the clouds) you can still see that?

Improper alignment or not enough contract pressure of "zebra strip" LCD connector?

Could also be some contamination on the zebra strip and/or the contact pads.

I wouldn't suspect the LCD is the issue as it works fine in some modes.  Double check the batteries and battery contacts?  How does it behave with the backlight on?
