HITACHI VC-7104 - for 137$ good deal ?
« on: April 23, 2013, 08:44:05 am »
hey

I was offered 137$ for that  HITACHI VC-7104 4CH 150 ( I think ) scope .

I didn't saw the overall shape but I believe he's okay . so do you think it'll be okay as second*analogue* scope ?

I do have kenwood 40Mhz analogue and the DSOX2002 70Mhz 2CH . so that 4CH and plus the 150Mhz is nice touch , don't you think so ?

shall I wait and say buy some old 500Mhz 4CH tek scope and try to repair it myself ? ( ebay action )

or that 150Mhz will do ? ( for now perhaps > ? )

thank you in advance !

At 150 MHz if its dual timebase and is working ok I'd seriously consider it. Not familiar with that model but I had a 60 MHz V-1050F for many years and now wish I hadn't sold it. Zero level would drift with time as did cal, but not bad for the price. Take a look at it and decide if it looks and acts as well cared for.

It's not a bad price for a 4ch 150MHz analog scope I guess, but you could be argued that a nice 300MHz+ Tek might be money better spent?
I cannot find that model on Google  :-//

I found it mentioned in a few places, looks like it is a 100 MHz scope with a max sample rate of also 100 Mhz...  :-//

No, those Tek scopes use unobtanium components!

Has anyone a calibration manual?
Some capacitors have lost capacitance or are short-circuited, coils are also burnt out, so a new calibration is necessary. I  know, this ist an old guy and thread, but I like this scope.

Best regards
