I think they stand alone in the sub-$500 market, but I also expect the other big budget scope makers to catch up soon. Their hardware is solid, but the software still has a lot of room for improvement. You can get most basic functions working, but some features you would expect in a touchscreen device are not implemented well.
They also need to work on their English.
EDIT: Also, I would say that hardware wise, they have some unique features such as built-in battery operation, HDMI out, and WiFi that you won't find on other stock budget scopes.
