HElp find information of very old BWD oscilloscope

so the backstory is that i sore this very old oscilloscope on ebay and basically said "why the hack not" and now that i have it (and yes it does work) i have not been able to find anything about it other than what was on the ebay listing. so any information on this old beauty would be amazing

thanks but unfortunately this website does not go back far enough i think this scope is from the mid 50's or early 60's

Maybe, but it's the best BWD website in the world and it's definitely worth giving Kevin a yell as who knows what other old paper copies he may have.

I used to work at BWD in early eighties... Got to meet and work with the B in BWD .
Company was bought out by an accountant and renamed a few names since then.
Presently i think it i still in Mulgrave in Victoria.
I think it is now called McVan Instruments.
I think it is now  owned by ex BWD factory manager.
Chase them up and ask them if they still have any of that info.

UPDATE:

how had a response from observator instruments and they said that BWD products have not been made for over 10 years and they have not keep any real archive of BWD manuals or documentation.

but they did give me manuals for the BWD 604 and BWD 881A i have put them in the photo folder if people need them. I may as well share what has been shared with me.

thanks, i think his has the 604 stuff but maybe not the 881A given a quick look on his site

Thanks for posting photos, I'm glad that this went to someone on the forum, I would have bid on it but I'm in NSW.

I don't have any information on this scope, this must be one of their first. I do have an archive of all the BWD manuals and photos that are freely available on the net, but not this model!

I didn't have the 881A manual either, so thanks for posting that!

This could be the last surviving 03/F1 left in existence, so look after it! 


edit: If you can find an archive of Australian Electronics magazines from the 1950s/1960s there could be adverts/specs in there. 

edit2: Trimax transformers (used in this scope) changed name in 1963 link, so I guess your scope is younger older than that!
