Earlier today, a former colleague of mine asked me if I knew of any good books on "System-Level Production Test Techniques".
This person is an experienced IC test engineer that is transitioning into a new role as an embedded system production test engineer. They are very familiar with test concepts and want to understand system level considerations.
There are many great books on mixed-signal IC test techniques. Like me colleague, I assumed that there would be plenty equivalent books on system level production testing.
A search on Amazon has come up surprisingly short and I'm a bit stumped.
Any recommendations for a good book (or other resource - app notes, forums, blogs, etc.) on embedded system production testing would be greatly appreciated.
Topics of interest include:
- Production Test Hardware
- Test Jig Development
- Bed Of Nails
- Flying Probe
- Boundary Scan
- In-System ADC/DAC Test Techniques (Though these are well covered in IC Test books)
- In-System Memory Test Techniques (Volatile and Non-Volatile)
- In-System Interface Test Techniques (UART, Ethernet, USB, etc.)
- In-System Peripheral Test Techniques (LEDs, Push Buttons, Switches, etc.)
- BIST
- Use of system processor(s) for production test purposes
- Programming techniques for non-volatile memory for processors and FPGAs during production test (JTAG, BSCAN, etc.)
The above list is a bit of catch all but I'm keen to hear about any good resources. I've already referenced the EEVBlog DFM videos
