Hantek DSO5102P Niggle
« on: June 20, 2019, 06:04:22 pm »
Hi,

If you look at any waveform on my scope, and remove the probe immediately, the 'scope continues to display the waveform in a kind of 'hold' mode for about half a second. It's really starting to annoy me!

Anything I have missed in the menu anywhere that affects this behaviour?

Thanks!

Hello Steven and welcome to the forum.
It sounds like the persistence time is set, check if it is off in the "Display" menu. If it is already off check then if the acquisition mode is not set to average instead of normal. Or simple press the Default Setup button that it will restore the original configuration of the scope.

Hi and thanks for the welcome.

I have tried that -- unfortunately still the same behaviour. Has anyone else got one to confirm if this is just a typical "feature" -- or has mine gone squiffy?

Thanks!

Sorry, I should have checked before answer your question but I finally tested a Hantek DSO4072C that I have access and I think that I understand now what you mean by this "hold feature" and I am afraid to tell you that it is the normal behavior of the scope. Well, at least the DSO4072 also lags a few milliseconds to clean the waveform from the display after I disconnect the probe.

To be honest I've never noticed that before and it didn't bothered me, until now that you called my attention to it...  :palm:

try display button(menu) -> page 2/2 -> Refresh Rate and set it to 50 instead of auto (which is default always). That should help.
