Hantek DSO1000E DSO8000E Handhelds teardown and IP51 test
« on: July 08, 2014, 02:22:41 pm »
while lurking on Hantek's OneDrive i found (password protected) zip file with some nice teardown pictures of these new models and as well video of (i assume) IP51 test.

I've uploaded all these pics to my OneDrive :

http://1drv.ms/1hf4SgO (in pictures/hw1.02/ folder)

and that funny IP51 test to YT:

Specs:

http://www.hantek.com/en/ProductDetail_1_159.html
http://www.hantek.com/en/ProductDetail_1_158.html

In principle the are like DSO1000BV models + IP51 + better PCB layout + new SoC + AWG (on DSO8000E).

I don't want to be human! I want to see gamma rays, I want to hear X-rays, and I want to smell dark matter ...
I want to reach out with something other than these prehensile paws and feel the solar wind of a supernova flowing over me.

This is a very interesting set of pictures -- it certainly looks a lot easier to get into than my DSO8060! Just as a matter
of interest, what does the small square PCB on the inside of the back cover do?

Thanks,
James

honestly that looks like a CAM and led light  :wtf:

On the other side they using SoC with CAM port, so why not use that port. It might be good idea for field engineers, not to only measure something but as well to shot pic or video of DUT while measuring. Sure, one can use everything else for that, but why to use anything unsecure when one have an isolated gear already in hands ... so i don't know, that might be really good thing for some ppl.

DSO8000E is isolated channel version of DSO1000E. So when you wish isolated and IP51 then DSO8000E, not isolated but IP51 then DSO1000E, isolated but not IP51 then DSO1000S and not isolated nor IP51 then DSO1000B or BV.

tinhead    Are you sure about that?  I can't find any specific mention of input channel isolation on the IP51 rated E series scopes.  I thought the DSO8000E series was the IP51 rated version of the DSO8000 "five-in-one" handheld, and had conventionally grounded inputs.  I do see (from the Hantek web site) that they have isolation between the scope and the multimeter inputs, which is true of the entire Hantek handheld line.  If you have some source of information that states the contrary, it would be great to see a link. I believe that an isolated, IP rated, version would be an excellent addition to their line. :)

Thanks for your answer, guys!
Besides the IP51 rated, any other plus new features of E series scopes than Hantek older version handheld?

Just to confirm this series can also be hacked using Peter's  DSO-USB-tool http://peter.dreisiebner.at/dso-usb-tool/ via the shell. Hantek made a small change to the location of the files they are now stored in /dso/apps/ the command is:

mv /dso/apps/dst1072b /dso/apps/dst1202b

then reboot the scope using the power switch and keep your fingers crossed good luck. >:D

Thank you to Tinhead and all the other contributors.  :-+

here we go, http://www.hantek.com/en/ProductDetail_160.html

This is (actually, it will be) DSO1000E+AWG+Isolation (or easier said DSO8000E + Isolation, because DSO8000E is DSO1000E + AWG).

Too bad for me, i got already DSO8000E

I browsed the Hantek Web, and found only 1000E series will have an isolated version 1000ES series, but 8000E seems hasn't. :scared:

that's right, there is no official info directly accesible, i found the "dso100es" name in DSO1000E/DSO8000E GPL sources, so googled for it and found that link posted before.

If so, is it possible to hack DSO1000ES to DSO8000ES?

as far i know this is the model situation

DSO1000E= new handhelds
DSO8000E= same as DSO1000E but with AWG
DSO1000ES = isolated version of DSO8000E

This worked on my unit. It still states "1072E" on sysinfo, but now it has 2ns sweep.

From what I can see for now (got my 1072e today), firmware has some things to be fixed, especially self calibration. My unit has offset of both channels depending on the vertical setting. And on 20mV (10x probe), it is pretty huge (several vertical divisions).

There is a LED on the back side. I don't know if there is a camera there. The camera window seems empty. The LED is turned on for a moment during startup. :) Pretty strange.

Also, as far as I can see there is not any new functionalities compared to my old 1062B. The interface and the menus looks the same, more or less.

P.S.: On the self calibration it goes to step 11 and then exits with "complete" message. There is definitely something wrong with self calibration routine. The offsets are also still there. The offset at 20mV setting is around 120mV which is clearly unacceptable.

No, there's no camera on 1072E.
The LED is just a torch, you may light it in dark place, like under the vehicle, I think.   :-//

Do you have any of the issues with the firmware I mentioned (self calibration)? If no, what is the firmware version of your unit?

Do you have any issues with auto calibration (incorrect amplitude, offsets)?
