You're going to have LOTS of fun.
I bought a new B&K Precision 1535A dual-trace 35MHz scope back in 1983 or so. The only trouble I ever had with it was some trace noise when switching vertical settings after 10 or 15 years. It's currently on loan to a pair of home-schooled twins -- actually, they're in college now, studying computer engineering. Still going strong, as far as I know.
I eventually bought a used Tek 7834 and a bunch of plug-ins, because I was a bit of a gear-head. But, frankly, the simple B&K analog scope was more fun to use, and more useful for the stuff I
actually did (as opposed to daydreaming about). And you can't argue with 30 years of reliable service!
