Group Buy for the Rigol DS2072 DSO?
« on: October 25, 2012, 05:53:59 pm »
Hi All,

Does anyone know if there is a group buy for the Rigol DS2072 scope? If not, are any of the members here interested in picking up one of these? Hopefully, we have enough members wanting this scope so we can get a discount volume purchase. I will check to see if rigolna.com does group sells or volume discount sells.

I'm hoping some of you would join me in this attempt to get this scope at a discounted price. Please let feedback and let me know.

Actually the measurement equipment (especially professional tier as Tek or Agilent) is a kind of equipment that you can get discount even for single unit. Dunno if that's possible with Rigol.

If you tell them you are a student, they might knock a couple of percent off... I got a £30 discount from a Rigol distributor for an order of a DS1102E because I said I am a student (which I am.)

As you know I'm trying to stay in the <$500 USD range on my scope decision but given recent posts in my thread I'm not so sure about that any more haha.  I'm a little concerned about if 70 MHz will be enough bandwidth but it's only 30 MHz less than what I was thinking I'd need so how bad could that be.

Anyhow, I live in Indiana (USA) and might be interested.  Maybe a poll would be a quick easy way to get what you're after and see if a group buy is worth pursuing?

1) Definitely wanting to buy a DS2072 and very interested in a group buy
2) Interested in the DS2072 but not certain, may be interested in a group buy
3) If Rigol made a scope called "The Wombat" I'd be in but until then no way

Or whatever.  You may/may not want to include location information in it.  Then commitments to buy, money arrangements, etc could be worked out after.  Just an idea.

Seriously, anyone in the US that is on this forum interested? Tequipment.net is giving a 5% discount for 5 or more units. I don't know how we can set or arrange this but seeing that there is a groupon thing on the internet maybe some of us can sign up?

Can I have a poll of hands up if you are interested in this dso? I just wanted to see the popularity of this scope and it with all the hardware options in it maybe if alot of us that gets this can work on some sort of hack for it? It is very decently priced for the features listed, do you agree?
