Siglent SVA 1032X
« on: March 29, 2022, 12:37:50 am »
While I  have a long history with network analyzers, I am rather new to my 1032. My question is about recalling save Calibrations. I have successfully (I think) saved  calibrations (.CAL format), but cannot seem to recall them. I highlight the CAL file and press Open- but the screen  does not change. So how does one  recall a saved Calibration?

Tnx,
Dale

Off the top of my head I think you may be hitting a known bug - where calibrations don't load unless there is already a calibration in place.

You could test this theory by doing a 'dummy' OSL calibration (don't bother changing the standards on the port), and then try loading the cal. you saved.

Thank you for the idea. Just tried it  .
I had a calibrated screen up (COR) and tried to load another CAL file. The only difference I could see was that  the COR disappeared and was replaced by uncalibrated (C?). One  would think this should be a very basic function. Heck, saved calibrations even work on the $100 nano-VNA, along with the ablity to plot a rectangular R+/-JX graph. Maybe I should have done more homework before purchasing the 1032X.

I have heard the COR indicator is also buggy.

It should be pretty clear if you have managed to restore the saved calibration after you have attached one of the standards you used in the original calibration.
Which version of firmware are you on? These issues have been around for a while and should have been fixed by now.

Yes, I did a 2 port cal and saved it. Then I set up a different set of frequencies and did a 1 port CAL. Next, I tried to recall the 1st CAL. Nothing  on the screen changed except the COR went to C?
It is also hard to understand the lack of a rectangular graph plotting R +/-JX versus frequency (also available on the nano-VNA).
