Thanks for the heads up, updated my HMO1022 without problem.

Do there exist photos or videos of the inside of these Hameg scopes?
(not planning to open mine)

P.S. 'INV' 1 LSB offset wasn't fixed. (although I'm not using it anyway)
Edit: I reported it to Hameg on 30 July, This firmware was build on 17 July.

It would be nice if Hameg would also fix firmware bugs for scopes not in production anymore but still sold by major resellers just two years ago. It seems they're following the chinese way :-(

Did you report the bugs to Hameg? Did you call them and ask for support?

There have been photos in a German magazine in 2009 - will have a look if I can find it. Usually you can download it, but it might be that they've taken older magazines from their server.

A few bugfixes contained in the latest update have been reported by myself, I've talked to Hameg support manager directly and sent details per mail. Up to know I can say that not many companies have such a great support as Hameg. So I assume they will fix your problem if possible - did they confirm anyhow after reporting?

So,

I've to correct my last comment: the magazine about Hameg HMO internals is from 11/2011 instead of 2009. You can legally download it from here:
http://www.elektronik-industrie.de/2011/

On page 96 you can see the hardware of the HMO1024, also the report contains interesting information, unfortunately in German only.

Magazine from 06/2011 contains an article about bus analysis also in German only - but maybe interesting for you?!

Kind regards
Gunb

Yes, the support was able to reproduce the bug, but told me that the firmware can't be fixed anymore since the scope was announced to be discontinued. That was the first time Hameg disappointed me.

Yes, that's something where users might become frustrated. Only curious: which device do you mean and what kind of bug?

It's a HM1508-2 and the bug switches the beam intensity to maximum. To trigger the bug the scope needs to be in ALT mode for CH1 and CH2, then enter the timebase menu via HOR/VAR and select "Search". You'll see a highlighted area (brighter beam), as expected. Then select "A" or "B" in the menu and the beam will have maximum intensity for both channels.

Thanks for the link although the resolution is a bit low.

we understood your advice and we will take care of this as soon as possible.
Obviously it will be given a priority and it may be a low one.

I also emailed a feature request but I'm not sure if the hardware will support it.
It would be nice if the full virtual screen could be outputted to DVI 1280*720 (maybe reduce to 30Hz, and only use 640 of the 720) and use the monitor in portrait mode to put all channels on it. If this is not possible taking a 'screenshot' of the full virtual screen should be easy.
(Virtual screen is 19 div high, screen is 8 div high)

Thank you for your suggestion. Unfortunately, due to technical reasons the resolution is limited to 640x480 px (VGA)
