GW-Instek Scopes at bargain prices. Too good to be true?

A google search led me to this...

There are other models at even better prices.

I followed through the purchase process, and was surprised when the shipping cost was "Flat rate $5".

Completing to the point of payment showed payment was "Cash on delivery"

I didn't follow though, and I wonder now what they will do with my address details as I wonder if it is just a ploy to harvest that.

A Whois search on Sunday threw up a result with a technical contact email address of agungraksana1@gmail.com and that email address when searched was associated with a number of other ecommerce sites configured similarly. One link led to a company called Mangisikasih LTD and a website http://mangisikasih.com/

I did use their contact form to ask about their store.

Today (Monday) the gmail address contact as noted above on a whois search is now protected via the domain registrar and can no longer be seen.

All a bit of a puzzle....

Most likely, i went all the way and used a bogus everything and a "black hole" email i have and you don't get a response back.


Spammers probably
