not just another cheap thermal imager, HemaVision
« on: April 15, 2015, 03:33:08 am »
Hey all, following the intense Mu and Seek discussions here, would like to announce there is another thermal imager on Kickstarter now at http://kck.st/1C6gXtg (disclosure: I'm one of the guys, ahem, people behind it).

The HemaVision is less than the Lepton dev kit at Sparkfun (https://www.sparkfun.com/products/13233) by quite a bit (not to knock Sparkfun or Pure Engineering - they're both excellent), and it includes a screen, a shutterless 82x62 thermal diode array (never needs recalibration, very much like a thermopile array), battery, case, image sensor, quad-core processor and Wifi module. Its real, and it will ship in October of _this_ year. Please feel free to comment and ask questions.

Are you using an off the shelf developed sensor or is this something you designed? This is quite an undertaking, especially considering the image quality compared to the more conventional 80x60 lapton core. Your images look cleaner than the Seek developed sensor... Of course you also list the NetD, which they have all but forgotten  that they even sell a thermal camera.
