Siglent SDM3350 freezes on boot

Hello community.

After months of enjoying reading the forum and being overwhelmed by your knowledge, I finally need your advice on an issue I have with one of my digital multimeters.

Around 2.5 years ago I bought a Siglent SDM3550 DMM. It worked fine, but after being shutdown for a period of several months it is unable to boot. When I turn it on it gets to the point where it shows the Siglent logo and stays there forever. I have read that this is a common problem of this model and it might be needed to send it back to the technical service. As I am based in Europe, and we are in the middle of this coronavirus madness where is difficult to get out or to move things, I am wondering if there is a procedure or recovery method I can try to make it back into service.

Welcome to the forum.

Yes it sound like the boot freeze in models that have not had their firmware updated.
We now have a couple of recovery packages to help that we can share privately so the unit does not need to be returned to a service center.

We have USB recovery we try first then SD card recovery if that fails however the unit needs be opened to gain access to the SD card slot.

Tautech got my SDM3055 running.  I have older hardware (early 2017) which required the SD card fix, but it's running great now.  Much appreciated.

Does that mean you had to work with an SD card in your case ?
Or was it (it is probably due to the firmware version, which was not too old at the time) with a restore only via usb ?

Yes and yes.
Once a unit has frozen we cannot know the firmware version installed unless the owner remembers what's installed but we always try USB recovery first as it's noninvasive then SD card recovery as a last resort which in the case of SDM's hasn't failed.....yet.

The SDM starts and stays in the Siglent boot screen.
No response from Siglent DE over weeks now, just one time by mail.
Is there anyone who can help me with this ?

Hi, I know this thread is old, but hoping that I can still get help. My SDM3055 is freezing about 3 seconds after boot (I can get about 2 refreshes before it freezes). It's a 2018, maybe 2019 model.
