FNB58 app
« on: January 06, 2024, 01:46:04 pm »
Acquired a FNIRSI FNB58 USB meter and made sure it was the BT version so I can connect via my phone. But now I wonder what the point of Bluetooth is on this because I can't find the app anywhere. A google search turns up some info, mostly a reddit thread about it not working on Android 14, but no actual app.

Anyone know if it really exists and, presuming it does, where to get it?

Yes, I can find references that the apk is on the website, but I can't find it on the website. Got the PC application, etc, but no apk.

Mine connects to the phone, but I haven't been able to extract data with it yet.

first press "Run" in the upper right corner, then "Run" in the red circle in the middle...

Thanks very much, both. For some reason the website I see is not like the one in the screenie, but knowing it is there lent me the perseverance to figure out how to get there in the end  :-+

Here's the link to the Bluetooth app for future reference: https://www.mediafire.com/file/if2gm8oiv99xasx/FNIRSI_Bluetooth_APP__old%25EF%25BC%2588Android%25EF%25BC%2589_v1.0.apk/file

I know it looks shady but it's how FNIRSI do it.

On their download firmware page (https://www.fnirsi.com/pages/download-firmware), under USB tester, you'll find a *.txt file with two links: one to the PC app and one to the Android app.

If you want to update the firmware, it's of course (!!) not available on the /download-firmware page but rather on the FNB58 product's page:
https://www.fnirsi.com/collections/usb-tester/products/fnb58

But to update the firmware, you'll need the PC software from the /download-firmware :palm:

The procedure is on page 17 of the manual (https://www.fnirsi.com/cdn/shop/files/FNB58-_Manual.pdf?v=15001951769436062594)
