1. On the digital camera, Is there a hardware difference between the E40-E60 and E30 .
The Flir spec sheet indicate 2MB on the E30 and 3.1MB for the E40-E60.

2. What's the biggest SD card you can use?

Just upgraded my E30 using "E60 goodies" files.
Everything is good except my Wi-Fi connection.  I can't connect to a network.
Anyone with the similar problem?

Upgrading E30 to E8 including resolution upgrade.

Hello All,

   My name is Gustavo, and I have been craving to share with you all a great accomplishment I had with an E30, I successfully upgraded  it to an E60, using all the available hardwares, including “Camera”, Flash Light for illumination, 320x240 resolution with full frame buffer, WiFi, Bluetooth,  Video Recording, and even the name of it is E60 instead.

...   1. This hack was performed over an E30 2012 model, so, before changing your unit,  check your unit serial number, it has to start with 490.

The problem I have is not able to see my wifi (or see other wifi) or Bluetooth.

there are E30 with Wifi- and bluetooth-hardware and there are E30 where these daughter boards are missing. It seems you got one without the needed hardware. Sorry

Apparently Flir made two versions. 49001-1801 (with digital cam) and 49001-1601 (without digital cam).
Mine is the 49001-1801 (made in 2013).

Because, due to the datasheet, the E30 did not come with Wifi and Bluetooth. Thus I suppose Flir were producing E30 without this (unneeded) hardware mounted to have lower BOM.
As some E30 does have this hardware (kind of lottery for the buyer as you can't check), I assume that they were using either E40/E60 boards to produce E30s when they did not have stock of E30 boards or that they at one point decided to produce and mount only one board for all Exx.

I'll do some digging into admin menu, under Browse Resources. You can actually see and confirm all your setting\status and config setting from there.

Hmm... has anybody tried to input the "missing" slbwver hw component in the EEPROM menu? Just to make sure that it is really physically missing....

As far as I understood from other postings is the absence of the hw component "slbwver" the indicator that something is missing.

In my service menu I can see that instead of any Part #, revision # and Serial # there is only an asterisk "*" in the slbwver row.

But... in he EEPROM Menu you can actually set these components manually so the absence of the slbwver data is not enough proof for me that this component is physically absent.
In theory it might be just not enabled. (Yeah I know, whishful thinking, but the hope dies last ;-) )

Has anybody played around with these settings yet?

I got my hands on a E30

SN 490217XX

Model E30_B 1.1

This units has the WIFI/Bluethoot. When BT is on the Mobile finds the E30 camera, I have no inormation about WIFI but I assume the Radio board is there.

So I can not confirm this:

This unit with PN 49001-1801 has the wifi board, SN is 490217xx. So maybe the theory SN 490xxxxx has the WIFI is correct.

Now I am waiting for another E30 (Model should be 49001-1601), keep you posted if it will have the Radio Board on it.
