Hi everybody,
I'm truely ashamed. I did it. I turned it on, before i took it apart
Here's my Voltcraft VC950 Teardown. Couldn't find one in the internet so i posted it here.
First:
The VC950 feels pretty sturdy, almost like a brickstone. Never had a heavier DMM in my hands (well, i didn't have a lot of DMM in my hands). Looks like it could take a beating.
The Software works nicely for me, using it under Win 8.1. Export to CSV and Excel (diagramm is not that great tho, who cares i can make my own diagram with the values).
First Con:
This thing beeps a lot. Every keypress makes a beep. You can turn the beeping off, but then the continuity test doesn't beep anymore
Continuity works like a charm.
I'm a noob and there is not much i can do about it right now. So I'm not able and willing to rant about this product. I let you guys tell me that it sucks
Cost: 260 EUR + 8 Euro for a set with a clamp and a cheap plastic toolcase. Clamp cost almost 60 EUR alone.
There is a chip under the LCD which reads BL 55022 ; 1001 NT; C66 0028AP
The yellow "bubble" reads TVR 911 and has MOV 101 next to it. There seem to be two more of those right next to it in heatschrink
The blue "bubble" reads 10J 2KY MP0
Have fun.
Greetings
