Show us your noise floor
« on: September 05, 2024, 08:13:17 pm »
Hi group,

The recent introduction of the Keysight HD3 series of oscilloscopes has prompted a discussion on noise floor.

Please share your oscilloscope's noise floor here.

To get this started:

Tektronix MSO46 4-BW-500

Sample mode, full bandwidth, 1mV/div

Hi-Res Mode 1mV/div

Hi-Res Mode 5mV/div

Regards,

Hi, adding to the thread

Tektronix MSO24 2-BW-500

This scope does not have an internal 50 \$\Omega\$ termination. This is with input open.

And with the high-res mode turned on:

The $150 Hantek DSO2000 is probably not comparable, but here it is anyway.

Normal Mode, 400kPts

HR Mode

Here some 8 / 12 / 14 bit simulations with 64K / 1M / 16M FFT & "von Hann FFT Window" and without any averaging.

So be carefully to compare FFT noise floor with various FFT size settings. Even used detectors algorithm.
