I have just connected the front panel of the ET4410 to the rest of the ET4510....
It's still an ET4410, as we suspected it's up to the front panel whether you have an ET45 or ET44.
And the serial number is also stored in the front-panel, right?

Pics...

ET4410 Front with ET4510 Signalboard and vice versa.
The readings are slightly different when you change the boards, which makes sense in terms of calibration, that's what I noticed, but I hadn't photographed it now.

I can confirm:
Code: [Select]
DISPLAY:PAGE?
MEASurement

DISPLAY:PAGE?
.STSTem

DISPLAY:PAGE STSTem
exec success

DISPLAY:PAGE SYSTem
exec err

But I also get errors when I try to combine that with 4410 or 4510.

The very first thing I did on mine, when I received it, was to take the lid off and snap this zip-tie that holds the mains cable and the data wires together.

After that, I turned it on for the first time  ;D

I had already mentioned this in the picture post:
There is a small deviation from the displayed measured value when you swap the signal boards with each other, which probably has something to do with the (internal) calibration.
If you pair the same to the same again, the measured values are the same as before.

I will probably take detailed pictures of the circuit boards today, then reassemble the two so that they are ready for the "shoot out", because:
My next LCR device arrived today, but I wasn't at home, so I got it Monday. 8)

Did you calibrate before doing the measurements? I think the tolerances are on the main board, while calibration data is probably stored on the display board.

No, that should show the difference when you swap the boards.

Pinouts of the 4-pin ports of the two controllers, according to the datasheet.

I don't have JTAG experience or equipment, but if somebody has, the memory in the 0x20000xxx area seems to contain interesting information, including the model. Would be interesting to dump that. But it is RAM and I don't know when it's written there and when it is evaluated.

I have a J-Link mini EDU and no experiences, time to learn more.
SW-DIO and SW-CLK are the "native" assignments, but they can also be UART RX/TX by the program.

I took a look at the diodes D600/D601 on the mainboard on the N32G455 chip.

I don't know if this has been discussed before, but mine is missing, while Martin's is there.

D600 is understandable and goes to pin 26 (BP0)
D601 has a line that goes under the chip, no idea where and also to pin 53 (PB14).

Perhaps an approach.

EDIT:
I just got the information from my colleague that his ET4410 has the diodes in it.
The only difference is that he has a Musttool and not an Easttester.
So the diodes here have another unknown function.

At first I would say that these are clamp diodes, i.e. some kind of protective function.

Yes, it certainly looks like that.

I just looked at the differences between the N32G455 and the N32G457 in the data sheet.
They are essentially the same.

Only the N32G457 has the following functions, which are not used in the LCR:
- 1x 10/100M Ethernet interface
- digital video (DVP) interface

I think depending on chip availability they used the 457 when the 455 was not available.

Here is a list of the components on the mainboard that I could identify as a reference.

Just ordered a ST-Link V2 (the slow way) to be ready, if something interesting happens on these jumpers close to the MCUs.
These tools might help with doing the talking.
