How to combine channel signals Rigol DS1000E? SOLVED
« on: June 06, 2014, 03:37:55 pm »
[SOLVED: See posts below]

I've searched the manual and the web but cannot find how to combine the oscilloscope's two channels into one waveform. Is it possible with the Rigol DS1000E? If so how do I do it?

I'm trying to sample two stages of a guitar amplifier, invert one signal then combine them so I can see distortion more clearly.

Thanks in advance,

Rob

Now i don't own a DS1052E, but I'm pretty sure there should be a math addition function on the scope. I think that's exactly what your looking for.

The Math function will do it for you:

It does have a math 'add' function but that just gives a number of the instantaneous Channel 1 + 2 value. I would like to see the combined waveform on the scope.

Watch Alan's video here, with waveforms on his Tek scope. The same can be done on the Rigol.

Thanks guys for the quick help. I was confusing the 'Measure' feature with 'Math' and the Math A - B function did exactly what I needed.

Thanks again,

Rob
