Quick question about Fluke 87V
« on: July 30, 2014, 08:07:48 am »
Hey guys quick question: I know that the yellow protective pouch can be purchased separately, but what about the grey plastic top shell itself? If yes, where can I source one?

Where else, ebay :)

There are other sellers, just posted the lower price with shipping (Edit: to the US, not sure where you are at).

Send a message to the seller, or try this one:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/FLUKE-87-V-Multimeter-Bare-Naked-Top-Case-Half-87-5-NOS-/371108951870

It mentions other countries but I can't seem to be able to select any other than the states, so send him a message as well.

Seller a-fluke, in the past, has it set up so you can't even message him unless you are an ebay USA member.

If you can't find it, just give your local Fluke center a call. They can help you out with part numbers and suppliers. I did multiple times.

Whenever I have contacted Fluke they have quoted me exorbitant stocking and handling fees.

The last time I called Fluke, they told me they did no parts research.  (Front cover for 87V,  Button assy, etc.)  If you have a part number, they will tell you availability and price, but that's it.

Even when they sent me the wrong part (looks like they put the 85 button assys in the bin for the 87) they refused to look into it.  "We can send you another, if that one's bad."  I tried to explain that the 87 had a backlight button, but the part they sent did not.  (despite being in a package with the correct p/n.)   The person was having none of it.   "We don't do parts research anymore."

About 15 years ago, it was a different story.

Last time I asked was about a month ago. But it was in the Netherlands, other countries may have other results.
